After success with their last single “Ponytail to Shushu” on May 2010, Japan idol group AKB48 produced their 18th single “Heavy Rotation”.

In the Single are two new songs; the Senbatsu A side and Undergirls B side, as well the two tie-in songs used in the 7-11 CM and the Kagome Koreichi CM. The CMs and full songs are below the jump.

Actually what made AKB48’s new single more attracted is their cover. On the Type-A jacket, Oshima Yuko, Maeda Atsuko, and Shinoda Mariko are the cover girls, and on the Type-B jacket is a solo picture of Oshima. All the girls are only wearing lingerie and looks like an AV Actress. Are the members want to follow their mate Riko Yamaguchi (Rina Nakanishi) who turned into an AV star ?

A-K-B-forty-eight or Akihabara48 is a Japanese theater/idol group produced by Akimoto Yasushi. The group has 48 members, divided into 3 subgroups, namely Team A, Team K, and Team B. They have released 4 singles as of present, and will be releasing their next single in April of 2007. Unlike other idol groups in Japan, AKB48 is theater-based and have their own theater in Akihabara (a district in Tokyo) where they perform once every weekday. AKB48 released its debut single “Sakura no Hanabiratachi” in February 2006.

AKB48’s 16th and latest single Ponytail to Shushu (ポニーテールとシュシュ). This video features the girls sporting ponytails whilst dancing on a beach。 The Single is so anticipated and sold 354,000 copies in its first day. making it the biggest first week for a female idol group since Morning Musume’s “Ren’ai Revolution 21″ in 2000, and the biggest first week sales for a female artist since Hikaru Utada’s “Can You Keep a Secret?” in 2001.

Single Ponytail to Shushu has been beating the group’s previous single “Sakura no Shiori”’s first week sales of 354,000 copies.
