Utada Hikaru just release a new single which is “Prisoner of Love” released on May 21 2008. If you are Utada Hikaru fans, i am sure u not gonna miss to listen to this great song. This will be her second recut single, the first being “First Love.” It is also her first single to be released exclusively in CD+DVD format.

So far her fifth best-selling album Heart Station has spawned four high-ranking Oricon single releases including the double A-sided Beautiful World/Kiss & Cry and Heart Station/Stay Gold and her No. 1 hit Flavor of Life. Now she is back with her latest single Prisoner of Love, the theme song for the Fuji TV drama Last Friends starring Nagasawa Masami, Ueno Juri, Eita, and Nishikido Ryo.

Utada will release a new single, Heart Station/Stay Gold, on February 20, 2008. The second A-side, “Stay Gold” is currently being featured as the promotional song for Kao’s new Asience hair care commercials, while Heart Station is being used as the 2008 Recochoku ringtone Download Service commercial.

Heart Station is also the name of her fifth Japanese album which will be released on March 19, 2008.This follows the tradition of Utada naming her album off of a track in her album (excluding Exodus which was based off of Exodus ‘04 and Ultra Blue which was based off Blue). There will be a total of 13 tracks on Heart Station, with 6 of them being previous singles. As of February 7, 2008, Utada has finished the mastering stage of Heart Station.

In late January/Early February it was announced that Utada would release a PV for her single, Heart Station. A clip of the PV is available for viewing on Utada’s official EMI site

Label Mobile, the joint company in charge of chaku-uta (ringtone) distribution for Japan’s major record labels, revealed its download rankings for 2007.

Hikaru Utada topped the Chaku-Uta list with “Flavor of Life -Ballad Version-,” beating out “Aiuta” (GReeeeN), “Tsubomi” (Kobukuro), “Lovers Again” (EXILE), and “WINDING ROAD” (Ayaka x Kobukuro).

The Chaku-Uta Full rankings were very similar, but “Aiuta” was #1, followed in order by “Lovers Again,” “Flavor of Life,” “Tsubomi,” and “Sen no Yoru wo Koete” (Aqua Timez).

December 9 marks the anniversary of Hikaru Utada’s 1998 debut single, “Automatic.” To celebrate the start of her 10th year as a singer, she is making the song available for free as a ringtone.

The promotional campaign starts on December 7 and lasts until December 10. Distribution is being handled by major mobile phone download sites such as Recochoku and MOBAEMI.

Also on the 7th, Utada fans will be able to purchase the ringtone for “Stay Gold,” a new song from her double single that is being released on February 20. It is currently being used in Kao’s Asience commercials.

Utada is reportedly working on a new album, to be released in the spring.
